“Why would Simon care if Jimmy was cheating on his wife?” I asked.

“Maybe he had a thing for Jimmy’s wife. Or maybe he had a thing for Leslie,” Everett offered with a shrug.

“Or perhaps both,” I said.

“Yeah, it could be. He didn’t want Jimmy to have either of them, and especially not both. So, what do you think? Should I talk to Thorn?”

“Well, Thorn’s out of town on family business right now,” I said and felt a pang of unease about my situation. “It would be Jeremy that you’d talk to, but if you’re not comfortable, I can run it by one of them. I’m sure they’ll look you up if they need to talk to you.”
